Scholarly and Commercial Publishing Sales Executive Joins Access Innovations, Inc. As Vice President of Business Development
Albuquerque, NM – May 19, 2025 – Veronica Showers, a veteran executive with more than 20 years of experience selling cloud-based and online software and content hosting platforms, both nationally and internationally, to scholarly and commercial publishers and educators, has joined Access Innovations as Vice President of Business Development.
In her new role, Showers will be responsible for leading Access Innovations’ development of new business opportunities, identifying strategic business partnerships, managing the organization’s business development pipeline, and establishing sales targets and marketing goals.

Most recently, Showers was Vice President of Sales for Boclips, a company providing access to more than 1.7 million safe, secure, and curriculum-aligned videos designed for educators. While there, she established a global reseller partnership, increasing sales to publishers by 50 percent.
She also served as Vice President of Customer Success for Silverchair, a leading SaaS company specializing in building and hosting websites, online products and digital libraries for scholarly and professional publishers. In that position, she revitalized the company’s second-largest client account and drove a 5 percent increase in client bookings.
In addition, Showers’ prior experience includes positions as Director of Sales for Atypon, a Division of Wiley Partner Solutions, selling a SaaS content hosting platform to commercial publishers, scholarly societies, government agencies, NGOs, associations and university presses. She also served as a Senior Client Development Manager for Aries Systems Corporation, which offers cloud-based peer review and workflow management products for commercial publishers, scholarly associations, institutions, government agencies, universities and university presses.
Showers holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo. She is a member of the Program Committee for the International Society of Managing & Technical Editors. She has also served as Co-Chair of the Development Committee and Co-Chair of the Philanthropic Fund Task Force for the Society for Scholarly Publishers. In addition, Showers has volunteered for Food for Hope, a nonprofit organization providing food to children in need.
