Mary Garcia

Mary has been with Access Innovations for 15 years, the majority in customer support, from network and cyberSecurity support for inside customers to all nature of Data Harmony questions for external customers.

Her first career began at a fire and casualty insurance company in the Underwriting Department. She moved to an independent agent and became licensed as an agent, but starting out as the bookkeeper’s backup. When the bookkeeper retired and the firm automated its books, their representative was disappointed that the first month’s use of the system produced no errors to correct. (Not so the second however.) She began studies for the Chartered Property and Casualty professional designation and as she progressed, taught introductory classes at the local Community College.

At the brokerage firm that her employer sold to, she served on a national task force to automate customer records, considering the user experience of staff servicers, professional liability concerns, and the need to provide clear and complete communication with customers. An excellent proprietary system grew from that effort and was adopted company-wide.

Her next career began with a return to community college to obtain a Network Administrator Certificate, working part time as Microsoft and Adobe software course instructor. That led to her position with Access Innovations.

She is still captivated with the ever-changing world of hardware and software, and with “cozy mysteries” and recipe experiments, but now also spends time with a couple of grandkids; one pretty new and one an accomplished pre-teen.
