Bert Carelli to Join Access Innovations as Vice President for Business Development

Albuquerque, NM (February 23, 2010) – Access Innovations, creator of the Data Harmony suite of content management software, announced today that Bert Carelli will join the company in the role of vice president for business development effective March 1, 2010.

Carelli is a veteran of the online information industry. He brings extensive experience to Access Innovations, along with a broad network of contacts among publishers and distributors of online content. Prior to his previous position with DeepDyve, he led content acquisition teams for Dow Jones/Factiva and Dialog, two of the three largest global professional information services.

Throughout his career, Carelli has focused on building value for content providers by partnering with companies that develop new technologies for finding, managing, and producing information. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California.

At Access Innovations, Carelli will work with professional and scholarly publishers to promote services and software which help reduce costs, increase productivity, speed time to market, and increase revenue by enriching content.

Carelli said, “I am very excited to join Access Innovations at this critical time for the publishing industry. Publishers are realizing that to effectively market their content through site search, website navigation, and third party search engines, they need to build and maintain controlled vocabularies, create and capture metadata, and manage rule-based automated indexing. As a client, I used the Data Harmony software myself, and found it to be the most cost-efficient way to meet these challenges. I view this as an unprecedented opportunity.”

“We are extremely happy to have Bert join us at Access Innovations,” said Margie Hlava, president. “He is well respected among publishers for helping facilitate creative solutions for the challenges of developing new markets for their high-quality content.”
