About The Library Corporation (TLC)
Since 1975
The Library Corporation has provided services to the world's
library community. Throughout the seventies and early eighties
TLC provided MARCFICHE to more than 5000 libraries worldwide.
In 1985 TLC was recognized as the first organization in the world
to successfully apply CD-ROM technology to the storage of data.
That product, BiblioFile Cataloging, quickly became the most popular
desktop cataloging tool in the history of library technical services.
In 1987, TLC introduced the world's first multimedia CD-ROM OPAC,
The Intelligent Catalog. With context-sensitive, spoken
help messages, and lightning fast search speed, The Intelligent
Catalog was a huge success. Shortly thereafter, BiblioFile Circulation
was released to round out our full line of PC-based automation
solutions. TLC currently processes over 4.2 billion MARC records
each year.
In
1995, TLC once again took advantage of emerging technological
advances. ITS.forWindows, the successor to BiblioFile Cataloging,
features an easy to use graphical interface in a familiar Windows
environment. Its rich capabilities have won it continuous praise
and thousands of users worldwide.
Today,
ITS.forWindows boasts Z39.50 client capabilities allowing access
to on-line MARC data from around the world.
