              How
                do I access the database?
You will need an assigned username and password to search
the Film and Video Finder Online, which
you will get with your paid subscription. Once you've received
your username and password, simply click the Sign
In link at the top of the page and enter the
                appropriate codes when prompted.
              What
                is "nonprint educational media?"
This refers to items such as films, videocassettes, laser discs,
CD-ROMs, audiocassettes, slides, filmstrips, overhead transparencies
and, most recently, DVD. For a more complete definition of educational
media and how it is used, please refer to the following article
                from Indiana University: http://php.indiana.edu/~jgpyke/trendsandissues.htm
              Do
you have any information on books or print products?
No, we only list information about "nonprint" educational
media formats, such as film, video, DVD, etc. We do, however,
have product records for educational audiobooks.
              Does
the database include out-of-print items and archival media?
Yes. For cataloging and media replacement purposes, the Film
and Video Finder will continue to contain older media types
such as filmstrips and slides. If you do not wish your search
results to contain these media types, you can limit your search
to the more popular formats like videocassettes.
              Do
you review the products you list?
Not at this time, although we do plan to begin including reviews and have recently
begun including awards that a product has received.
              Can
I print and download records from the database?
Yes, once you have accessed the databases and done a search for
the records you are looking for, you can either print out the
record or save it to your computer hard drive. Use of the records,
however, must be done in compliance with NICEM's copyright
                statement.
              Are
NICEM's Film and Video Finder books still being published?

No. 1997 was the last year the Film and Video Finder was published
in print form, although the information in the books can now be
found in the Film and Video Finder Online.
              Where
do you get your product information?
NICEM uses information provided by educational media producers
and distributors about nonprint products that are designed for
use in an educational setting. For more information, please visit
                our Selection Criteria page.
