Access Innovations, Inc. Celebrates 30 Years as Industry Pioneer and Leader

Albuquerque , New Mexico (July 22, 2008) – Access Innovations, Inc. (Access), a leader in the data management industry, is celebrating 30 years in the business. In this day and age, when a company surpasses the thirty-year mark, they’re obviously doing something right, particularly in an industry where companies shine briefly and then disappear.

“Our success is sustained by the equity firm, Sweat and Persistence,” quips Marjorie M.K. Hlava, President, Chairman, and Founder of the privately held Access Innovations, Inc. “We have made some interesting missteps and many fortuitous decisions over the years and continue to learn and grow with the industry. We have established over our 30 years a proven ability to meet the various challenges presented by the evolving information industry.” Mrs. Hlava is widely recognized as an expert in the information arena and holds patents in automatic indexing and content organization and creation systems. As a highly sought-after speaker, Mrs. Hlava travels internationally and gives countless workshops, lectures, and keynote addresses. Her curiosity and delight in solving the puzzles presented by organizing information collections for findability is well known.

Dr. Jay Ven Eman, CEO of Access Innovations and a major contributor to the business, attributes the success of the company to several things: “We have an obligation to our clients to walk them through every step of the information process; this example of personalized service has made our clients appreciate us and enabled us to continuously receive referrals. We also have loyal and dedicated employees, some who have been with the company since nearly its inception. They’re good at their job and enjoy the challenges presented on a daily basis.”

Past and current clients rave about Access Innovation’s professionalism and what a joy and great learning opportunity it’s been to work with their team. Drucilla Ekwurzel, AEA Director of Publication Services, described the software selection process: “We chose to test Access Innovations' DataHarmony™ software for machine-aided indexing of journal articles and books after seeing demonstrations at NFAIS and ASIDIC meetings on search engines. We already were familiar with Access Innovations’ excellent reputation for thesaurus building and data conversion.”

Tina Flammer, AGIS Vice President of National Systems, commented on Access’s contributions: “Access Innovations provided the tools and expertise we needed, enabling us to put together the most comprehensive online resource for caregivers. Their skills in handling many different types of data, along with their experience in the health care area, make them a valuable partner.”
