Data Harmony Users Conference to Focus on Training, Innovations
Three Day Conference Will Be First for Access Innovations
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (January 5, 2005) -- Access Innovations, specialists in creating and maintaining databases of digitized research and other content for a wide range of government and business clients, will hold a three-day training and networking conference for current and prospective users of its Data Harmony content management software line, February 6-8 in Albuquerque.
The company will offer in-depth training, plus presentations on recent innovations to its taxonomy and indexing software.
The Data Harmony line of software features tools to categorize and filter information added to a database. The software creates taxonomies and thesauri that structure data, enabling user organizations to maximize the value of their electronically stored information assets.
The February conference is designed for both current Data Harmony users and those information managers considering acquiring indexing software. In addition to the training, it will also feature user presentations, group discussions and product demonstrations.
“Libraries, corporations, publishers and our other constituents around the world increasingly recognize the importance of leveraging their information resources, whether it be to create online research services or to share intelligence within an enterprise,” said Marjorie Hlava, Access Innovations Chairman. “We’re continually making enhancements to our product line, and we’re eager to demonstrate the recent innovations. Specific topics to be covered at the conference include:
- taxonomy development and indexing
- recently released Data Harmony applications MAIChem and MAILib
- working with OWL Ontologies and semantic Web
- real-time portal applications
- large batch processing
Presentations and case studies will be offered by representatives of the American Waterworks Association, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, the Naval Postgraduate School, Lockheed Corporation, Kent State University, American Society for Radiologic Technologists, the Electric Power Research Institute, the Special Libraries Association and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, among others.
In addition to the working sessions, participants will enjoy opportunities to ski, visit nearby Santa Fe and tour Old Town Albuquerque.
